Karolyn Wells Rose

Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

Karolyn was born March 4, 1938, in Waco, Texas, to Dr. and Mrs. Wm. Howard Wells. She was graduated from Waco High School in 1956, attended Texas University and Sam Houston State, where she was graduated with a B.S. in 1961. Karolyn married Loy Rose on November 16, 1956. Her long career as an Educator began as a teacher at Waco ISD and Robinson ISD where she taught for many years. Karolyn continued her education at Baylor University, earning an M.S. degree in Education, as well an M.S. in both Counseling and Special ED, in 1971.

While still an Educator, she took on another path. Karolyn was a Special Education Counselor at Connally ISD, Midway ISD, and LaVega High School, until she retired in 1999. She always cared deeply for her Students.

Karolyn was a longtime member of The Texas Counseling Association. She was a Catholic.

Karolyn was preceded in Death by her Parents, and two brothers, Wm. Howard Wells and Walter D. Wells.

She is survived by her Husband of 68 years, Loy Rose. Her Son, Glenn H. Rose of Round Rock, TX. Daughter Loyanne Kelley of Abilene, TX. Three grandsons, Loy O’ Kelley of San Antonio, Dr. Walt Kelley M.D. of Abilene, and Will Kelley of Abilene. She is also survived by Great Granddaughter, Blake Kelley of Abilene.
