Born Willie Cathryn Womack in Colorado City in Mitchell County, Texas, Kathryn attended Colorado City High School. Over her lifetime, she resided in Boston, MA, Germany, the San Francisco, CA area and Albuquerque, NM, before moving to Austin in 1995.
She is preceeded in death by her husbands, Jack Merket, Lawton Hice and Cliff Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Verheyden of Austin, TX, Pegye Merket, of Albuquerque, NM, Jack Merket, Jr. of Bailey, Co. and Lisa Ruiz of Edgewood, NM. She has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Kathryn was an active member of Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin until her health declined.
Her family is so grateful for the love and attention of Kathryn’s many friends and caretakers.
