
Kathryn Spivey Jackson, 91, resident of the Summit at Westlake, Austin, went to be with her Lord on December 27, 2005. Kathryn was born in Pendleton, Arkansas in 1914, eldest child of Victor and Ada Spivey. As a teenager she attended John Brown University in Arkansas where she met Robert and later married. The mother of two, Kathryn was an accomplished seamstress, very active at home, in her church and in numerous civic and charitable organizations. She served as president of Opti-Mrs. in San Antonio and was also president of her PEO Chapter in San Antonio. During her retirement years Kathryn and Robert lived at Canyon Lake and traveled extensively with their Silver Streak Trailer Club. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert Jackson; son, Robert Jackson, Jr. and wife Wanda Jackson; daughter, Janelle Decker and husband James. She was grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Many of these loved ones were present to sing carols and hymns shortly before Kathryn went to heaven. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel with interment to follow at Austin Memorial Park.
