

Kathy Mary Collins, 62, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on November 18, 2013 in Austin, Texas. Kathy was born to Maureen and William Von Deilen in Roslyn, New York. Kathy was a graduate of Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington, NY. She married Louis Govin.
As a young widow she was a devoted mother of two sons, Paul and Tim Govin, and worked as a caterer and florist. She married Michael Collins in October 2009 whereupon she moved to Cedar Park, Texas. Kathy gave unselfishly of her time as a volunteer at the gift shop at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. The gardens at her home were gorgeous. She was an avid walker and swimmer. Her many talents included crocheting, cooking and baking. She was admired for her courage, adventurous spirit, and optimism.
Kathy is predeceased by her father William Von Deilen of Port Washington, NY; her first husband Louis Govin of Roslyn, NY; and sister Maureen Von Deilen of Port Washington, NY.
She is survived by her devoted husband Michael Collins of Cedar Park, TX; her mother Maureen Von Deilen of Utica, NY; her three sisters and their husbands, Pat and Richie Mas of Utica, NY; Barbara and Bud Fichter of Carle Place, NY: Sue and Ronny Woodward of Medford, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sons Tim Govin of Coram, NY, and Paul and Jenine Govin of Coram, NY and especially proud of her grandchildren Emily and Dylan Govin.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Thurday, the 21st of November 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at half past six that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 22nd of November, at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church10205 North FM 620, Austin, Texas 78726.
