

Kenneth Dean Atkinson passed March 12, 2021, in Austin-Cedar Park, Texas, at the age of 90 years. Born in Clarksville, AR, he leaves behind his wife, Betty (His childhood sweetheart with 71 years of marriage), 3 children, Steven, Debbie and Brian, 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Ken was a life-long member of Churches-of-Christ, a congregational leader and Bible Class teacher. He was a dedicated daily Bible reader and deeply loved the Lord. He was a faithful servant in the kingdom.
A 25+ year USAF Strategic Air Command Veteran (SAC), Ken served in both Korean and Viet-Nam Wars and also held a Top Secret Military Clearance. In addition to Korea and Viet-Nam during war-time, Ken was stationed in Japan plus 11 other USA bases. Ken was awarded 9 USAF/SAC Commendation Medals with multiple Oak Leaf Clusters for Meritorious Service. During each of Ken's Biennial
Performance reviews by USAF/SAC management, his involved Christian faith was noted as a positive aspect of his military responsibilities.
After retirement from USAF/SAC at Austin-Bergstrom Air Base, Ken became an area Banker and Municipal Tax Assessor for many years. Ken enjoyed the hunt of buying/selling used cars, boats and houses. He enjoyed fishing and watching his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns play football.
Cherished by his family, admired by co-workers, loved by all who knew him, Ken will be deeply missed. We will all see each other again in God’s Kingdom.
Philippians 3:20-21: But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables HIM to bring everything under HIS control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like HIS glorious body.
