

He was born to Arthur Schroeder and Katherina Peper Schroeder in Ellsworth, Kansas and was baptized by his father on December 8, 1931. He was later confirmed by his father on May 13, 1945.
In January of 1951, soon after graduating from high school, Ken joined the US Navy and served our country until November of 1954. In December of 1954, he met Gladys Schultz. They were married in December of 1955 and recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Ken was a loyal employee of NCR for 39 years, specializing in repairing cash registers and bank equipment. In retirement, he enjoyed driving vehicles for dealerships across the country for 25 years.
Ken was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 71 years. He served as an elder for many years and sang in the choir for over 40 years. He continued to carry out his love for music for the rest of his life.
As an avid Texas Longhorn fan, Ken enjoyed watching many sports, both in person and on television.
Ken’s greatest quality was his sense of humor. He always found a way to share that with everyone he met.
Ken is survived by his wife of 70 years, Gladys, daughter Kimberly Terry (husband Steve), daughter Kayla, and grandchildren David, Brandon, Kendall (husband Caleb) and Makenna, sisters Ruth Kasiska and Jennette Westerhaus and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, on August 3, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Memorial Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 W Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas on August 4, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
