Kim had a way of bringing joy wherever he went. He loved life fully and wholeheartedly, but what made him truly special was how much he wanted the people he loved to enjoy it right alongside him. For Kim, the best moments were never meant to be experienced alone. They were meant to be shared.
If there was laughter in the room, chances are he had something to do with it. He could turn an ordinary evening into a story people would tell for years, and he had a way of making people feel welcome, included, and ready for whatever adventure came next.
Kim loved EDM music, fishing, bouldering, nature, and the outdoors. He took special pride in the Sprinter van he outfitted himself, which became part of so many family adventures. He, his wife, and their son, Isaac, took it on road trips to California, often stopping at Joshua Tree to boulder and enjoy the scenery. It also carried him on many fishing trips to Padre Island National Seashore, whether he went alone, with Isaac, or with friends and family. But Kim was just as content spending a quiet night at home, especially with his three beloved Pomkies nearby.
More than anything, Kim loved his people. He was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, and a friend. He was someone you wanted around when life needed a little more positivity and light, and someone who reminded you, sometimes without even trying, that life was meant to be enjoyed.
He wasn’t interested in simply passing through this world quietly. He lived. He laughed. He explored. He loved deeply. And he left behind more stories than we could possibly fit into an obituary.
Those who knew him will miss his laughter, his energy, his sense of adventure, and the unmistakable spark he brought wherever he went.
Kim leaves behind his beloved wife, Muriel, and their son, Isaac; his parents, Anh and Thanh; and his sister, Linda. He also leaves behind his three beloved Pomkies, who were very much part of the family he loved so dearly.
So when we remember Kim, we will remember the ridiculous stories, the adventures, the laughter, the spontaneous moments that became some of our favorite memories, and all the ordinary days he somehow made more interesting.
And somewhere, we like to imagine, the adventure continues.
