

In 1981 Kimberly attained a BS degree with honors in Nursing, from South Dakota State University. Kim worked as a Register Nurse in many health care facilities in and around the greater Austin area over the last 20 years. Areas of Kim’s experience include medical / surgery recovery, clinical care and infusion therapy. Kim volunteered her nursing services at the Austin Convention Center during Hurricane Katrina. Kim was involved in the Cedar Park High School Marching Band Boosters, as well as other school activities of her children. Kim’s passions included reading and the education of her two boys.
Kimberly is predeceased by her father Robert King. She is survived by her husband of 29 years David Cook, their two sons Benjamin (Ben) 19 and Andrew (Drew) 15, all of Cedar Park. Kimberly is also survived by her mother, Lorraine King of Spearfish, S. D., brothers James King of Dove Canyon, CA., Kevin King of Brooking, S.D., Brooks King of Cornville, AZ. and sister Robin Paynter of Rochester, MN.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012, 11:00am at Hope Presbyterian Church, 11512 Olson Drive, Austin, TX. 78750.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Kimberly S. Cook Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Branch. Funds will be designated to charities of Kim’s interest including her grandmother’s memorial fund for higher education.
