King Chu "Anna" Toscani was born in Yilan City, Taiwan, on July 26,1930, to Lin and Yu Huang. She graduated from Yilan Senior School of Commerce, later holding various jobs until her marriage to William Toscani in 1976. With her marriage she moved with her husband to various Air Force assignments including Japan, Alaska, South Carolina, and twice to Texas. Many of her large family including a daughter, two grandsons, one great granddaughter, two brothers, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews remain in Taiwan. Her sisters-in-law Jean Toscani and Marilyn Aimutis reside in Indiana and Ohio.
After beginning life in a small Asian country, she visited more than 10 countries and 40 states since her marriage.
Among the things she loved most in life were her family and her flowers. Wherever life would take her she had to have flowers and a garden.
One time that gave her great pride and pleasure was becoming a citizen of the United States on July 31, 1980. Learning to read and write in English in addition to speaking it, was a challenge that she was more than willing to take to meet her goals.
