Lamar retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service, where he served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Capitol Rod and Gun Club and the Lonestar Early Bronco Club. Time spent with his grandchildren was greatly treasured. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, off-roading, and camping with his family and friends. He was a fan of NASCAR, motorsports, Sci-fi and Discovery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Ruve Copenhaver, of Grand Saline, TX, and by his best fishing buddy, Bert Ward. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Teresa Copenhaver; son Todd Copenhaver and wife, Leah, of Austin; son Jason Copenhaver and wife, Traci, of Spicewood; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Kaydence, Lucas, Matthew, and Braylen Copenhaver; sister-in-law T. Stockman of Spicewood; brother, Bobby Keith; and numerous wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life with a Military Honors Ceremony will be held on June 2, 2018 at 4:00 pm at the Capitol Rod and Gun Club, located at 20325 Rod and Gun Club Road in Spicewood.
