

Karl G. Jennings Jr. wishes to announce the unexpected passing of his beloved wife, Laurie Sue Gallagher Jennings, on February 6, 2016. Laurie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 6, 1967 to CW3(Ret) John (Jack) P. and the former Joanne Duelfer. Laurie attended college at Southwest Texas State where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and graduated Cum Laude in May 1995. She furthered her education by attending St Mary's School of Law and earned her Jurist Doctor in May 1998. Laurie was soon certified to practice law before the Texas Supreme Court. Laurie also earned her Certified Public Accounting License. Laurie practiced law earlier in her career however her greatest passion was working at the Texas Comptroller's Office where she served in the Tax Policy Division. She was an outstanding employee and loved her many co-workers, as well as being the party coordinator for its birthday and holiday celebrations. Laurie will be sorely missed by everyone she worked with.
Laurie was a great friend and to know her was to truly love her. She had many friends and would be eager to help anyone in need. Laurie's passion was quilting and all things "Moo Cow" as she called them. She enjoyed her many travels with her husband, Karl, and together they made many trips to Las Vegas, as well as New Orleans, Arizona, Seattle, Washington D.C, Hawaii, Florida, Canton, OH and the Caribbean. Laurie had a knack for planning trips and made many memories with her family leading them off the beaten path to great adventures.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Karl G. Jennings Jr., who lost his best friend and life partner; his parents, Karl G. and Norma Jean Jennings Sr.; her parents; sisters, Sherri Rose Mac Willie and husband Don (Skip), Kelly Adams husband Joey and sister, Kathleen Gallagher; nieces, Melyssa-Anne Stricklin and husband Robbie; nephew, Nicholas Gallagher wife Sabrina and their daughter, Maddison Gallagher, nephew, Don (Kyle) MacWillie and wife Riley. Laurie is also survived by her wonderful dogs, Winston & Krash who dearly miss her.
In lieu of flowers, Laurie requests donations to Austin Pets Alive in her memory or your local pet shelter.
A Memorial Service to celebrate this full life cut short way too soon will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S Congress.
