LaVerne was baptized on November 29, 1931, and then confirmed on March 25, 1945, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, Texas. On December 28, 1952, she married Daniel Rainosek of LaGrange. She worked for the University of Texas Austin accounting department for 34 years. When she retired, they said she was the hardest working employee they ever had. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Austin, since 1955. There, she was a very active volunteer in bible study, Dorcus Women's Group, Bereavement Committee, Thrift Shop, and she helped start the Widows Support Group.
Her favorite activities included cooking for her family, sewing, embroidering, and cheering on the Texas Rangers.
She loved to stay busy and always displayed her strong Christian faith. Her family is saddened by their loss, but joyous that she is at home with the Lord.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Elwood and Walter, Jr.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Debbie Reynolds and her husband Bob of Austin; by her granddaughter, Nicole Marshall of Houston; and great-granddaughter, Adeline. LaVerne had a brother and two sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were all very dear to her.
Funeral services for LaVerne Moerbe Rainosek are scheduled for 11:30am on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin. Rev. Dave Schroeder will be officiating.
