

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Lawrence Paul DeRoche, age 76, who peacefully passed away in his sleep on January 10, 2025, in Austin, Texas. Born on July 1, 1948, in Port Arthur, Texas, Lawrence was the son of Alvin and Eloise DeRoche.
Lawrence graduated from Bridge City High School in 1966. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government/History from Lamar State College in 1970 and served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972. He received a Master of Public Administration from Southwest Texas State University in 1978. He devoted 24 years to serving the City of Austin before retiring.
A loving father and grandfather, Lawrence was deeply involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his three daughters, Natasha (husband Jim), Courtney (husband Mike), and Ashley; as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Lawrence's legacy lives on through his children and their spouses, sisters (Elaine, Janet, and Carol), and brothers (Ernest and Kenneth).
Lawrence enjoyed a simple life; spending time with his family, going for walks, drinking coffee, and going to the library.
