

Lawrence Hamilton Parr, Jr. was born in Luling, Texas on January 3, 1938 to Lyda Ford and Lawrence Hamilton Parr and died on November 22, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Barbara Ann Norwood Parr.
Lawrence grew up in Austin, Texas, attending Austin High School before graduating from McCallum High School. After serving in the United States Navy, he graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Radio and TV Broadcasting. He began his career in radio and TV advertising before changing course to work for the Texas Health Department. Lawrence was part of the team responsible for implementing the EMS program in the state of Texas. His design for the state EMT badge is still in use today. Lawrence’s passion for design and construction culminated in a successful career as a fine homebuilder in the Austin area.
Lawrence was an avid golfer, a Master Mason of Parsons No. 222 of the Grand Lodge of Texas, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters Lynn Parr Mock and husband Presley of Dallas, Texas; Kriss Eubanks and husband Chris of Dickinson, Texas; and grandchildren Jillian Parr Mock, Abigail Presley Mock, Zachary Lawrence Eubanks, and Adam Christian Eubanks.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from eleven o’clock in the morning until one o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 26th of November, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. in Austin. The graveside service will follow at two o’clock in the afternoon at Austin Memorial Park in Austin, where Dr. Earl Lewis, is to officiate.
