Leigh Wakefield Stockwell ended her battle with ALS on February 4, 2021, at age 55. Leigh was a retired teacher and administrator, born on August 9, 1965, in Houston. Her family moved to Austin in 1971 where she attended Westlake High School, loved dancing in the highline, and was loved for her genuine kindness and level head.
On marriage in 1987, she moved to Bells where she raised her boys and enjoyed singing in a church trio. On her second marriage in 2012, she moved to DFW, ultimately retiring in Flower Mound where she enjoyed a life of travel, boating, and wildlife.
Leigh is survived by her husband Mel Stockwell, sons Geoff and AJ Ramsey, step-daughters Rebecca Stockwell and Rachel Williamson, stepfather and stepbrothers Phil, Brad and Lynn Crecelius.
On crossing over, Leigh will be lovingly met by her parents Paul Wakefield and Jean Crecelius, and her brother Ron Wakefield. Once scheduled, services will be announced on her Facebook page. We ask that memorials be spent on gatherings in her remembrance with others that loved her.
