Lena Mae Siler

Lena Mae (Lee) Siler A LADY – 92 years – Lee died April 7, 2005. Her brave struggle with pneumonia exhausted her. Lee moved to Austin from El Paso in 1991 upon the insistence of her daughters who survive her: Barbara Hollahan and Linda Holloway, with whom she has lived in the “Big House” for nearly 3 years. She soon met church members and bridge players whose company she always greatly enjoyed. Also surviving her are her granddaughters and their husbands: Kathleen and Alan Wayland, Pattie and Sam Lawrence; her grandson, Tommy Hollahan, and his girlfriend, Kim Kidwell; her great grandchildren: Evan Wayland and Faith Lawrence, who called her Gigi and brought her much pleasure. Lee was predeceased by her husband Arnold Siler in 1981. Arnold was a career Army man and they lived many places, retiring to El Paso in 1957. She was also predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Lula Mae Newman; brother, Kemp Newman; and great grandson, Carter Lawrence. A memorial service will be held at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church on Monday, April 11, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. Her ashes will be buried with her husband at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
