Leonita Nonie Teneyuque Guerra

Leonita "Nonie" Teneyuque Guerra, age 74, of Austin passed away on May 22, 2009. She was born on September 19, 1934 to Jose and Josephine Ruiz Teneyuque in Austin, Texas. Nonie enjoyed working with kids, taking care of everyone, traveling to Coushatta, Louisiana and the beach, and loved dancing with her husband. Most of all she enjoyed being with her husband and family. She attended both San Jose Church and Dolores Catholic Church. Nonie was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxillary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Josephine Teneyuque. Nonie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Samuel P. Guerra; daughters, Carla Jo Sewell and husband Gary N., Jeanette Ann Hodge and husband Darrell G., Annette Beth Wood; brother, Robert Contreras; sister, CoCo Fiedler, Mary Sue Gonzales; grandchildren, Christopher James Chandler, Aaron Casey Wood, Melinda Colby Hodge; great-grandchildren, Adriana Rene Chandler, Leo James Logan Chandler. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish South. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at San Jose Catholic Church with Reverend John Korcsmar, CSC. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Texas Oncology (South) and Hospice Austin Christopher House.
