

He Married Doris O'Dell Riley, pictured above, on September 8, 1945 and had a son, Riley Roy Simon. Leroy loved horses and always had at least one. Leroy and Doris moved to Austin in the early 60's, where he worked in the insurance business. Leroy enjoyed hunting, dancing, traveling in their motor home and going to National Rodeo Championships.
After retirement he and Doris opened an antique shop called "The Past to the Present". Leroy had many titles and wore many hats. His Favorite was "Grandpa" to grandson Rhett Simon and they had many good times together.
Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, and his son, Riley Simon, his sister, Lillian Jocoby, his brother-in-law, Ruben Jacoby and his brother, Kermit Simon.
Rhett would like to thank Cathy Tweedy for the love and care she gave Leroy and Ronnie McCann (Rhett's God Father) for the caring, help, support and love. Also, all of the staff at the Renaissance retirement community.
He is survived by his grandson, Rhett Simon, of Austin, Brother-in-law and his wife, Sonny & Mary Ann Riley of San Antonio and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Thursday, the 7th of March 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
A funeral service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 8th of March, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Park, Austin, Texas.
