Leslie Jo Nicholas passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Friday, March 18, 2011. She fought a short but very courageous battle with brain cancer in the months before her passing.
Leslie was born to Betty Jo and Lester Nicholas on December 14, 1954, in Odessa, Texas. She graduated from Permian High School and attended Odessa College for a period of time. Leslie worked for many years as a medical office receptionist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving dog, Schneider, and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lana and Robert Nicholas of Odessa, Sherry and Mike Westbrook of Porter, Texas, and Sandy and Alan Goode of Eastland, Texas.
Also surviving are nephews Grady Goode, Levi Goode, Michael Westbrook, Nicholas Westbrook, special friends Cindy and Mark Garner and Beverly Greenlees, and a multitude of cousins and other good friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 3-5 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home at 6300 W. William Cannon in Austin. Services to celebrate Leslie’s life will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks.
