

Lilla Wright Clark Widow of Isaac Bledsoe Clark; mother of Knox Clark and wife, Marcie, Houston, and Robert Earl (Bob) Clark, Dallas; grandmother of Robert S. Clark, Sr. and wife, Whitney; great-grandmother of Reagan Elizabeth and Robert S. (R.J.) Clark, Jr. , all of Houston. Born in Uvalde, Texas, May 19, 1910 to Thomas Rowan and Zillah Bunting Wright, raised in Austin, graduated from Austin High School (1927) and attended The University of Texas. School teacher at the Old Fiskville School and in the Austin Public Schools, retiring in 1972 from the Texas Education Agency. A resident of Westminster Manor at the time of her death. She is predeceased by four adult siblings, Margaret Clark and Ray B. Wright, Austin, and Knox E. Wright, Houston. An active member in Austins First Baptist Church for over 50-years and later a faithful member of the Highland Park Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class and Triple-L Club. Also a member of the Austin Womans Club and the Ruh Neb Temple, Order of the Nile. A strong woman of great wit, wisdom and faith, she was a cherished senior member of an enormous extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins from the Wright, Clark and Bunting families, and a treasured friend to countless from virtually all walks and stations of life. Services to include funeral home visitation, Saturday, September 4th, 4:00 7:00 p.m.; graveside services for friends and family at Austin Memorial Park, Sunday, September 5th at 1:00 p.m. followed by Memorial service at Highland Park Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Ray Burchette, Pastor Emeritus, officiating, assisted by Dr. Steve Lucas, Pastor.
