LinLinda Ann Choate, lovingly known as Ann, passed away on October 10, 2026, in Kyle, Texas, at the age of 82. Born on December 20, 1943, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, she was the only child of Raymond and Eula Fleming. Ann lived a life defined by love, friendship, elegance, and an unmistakable flair for making the world around her a little more beautiful.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Choate, and her son, Royce Choate. She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Choate, and Kristi’s wife, Allie Choate; her daughter-in-law, Angie Choate, wife of her late son, Royce; and her granddaughter, Haley Choate, whom she adored dearly. She also leaves behind countless cherished friends who were family in every way that mattered.
Ann grew up in Galena Park, Texas, and later settled in the neighborhood of Northshore with her beloved husband, Jimmy Choate. Their love was something truly special. They adored one another, shared a life full of memories, and were each other’s true love. In time, they made their beach house in Galveston their full-time home, embracing the beauty and charm of coastal living together. After Jimmy’s passing, Ann lived in Magnolia, Texas, before eventually moving to Kyle, Texas, to be closer to her daughter.
After a fulfilling career as an interior designer, Ann retired with a lifetime of experience creating beautiful, welcoming spaces. She had a natural gift for decorating and an eye for beauty in everything she did, always bringing her signature sense of style and sophistication to the world around her. She also loved shopping, finding the very best deals, and enjoying the finer things in life. Travel brought her great joy as well, especially trips to Paris and New York City at Christmas—destinations that perfectly matched her appreciation for beauty, glamour, and the magic of the season.
Ann was known for her class, style, and love of glitz and glamour. Her beautifully manicured red nails were a signature part of her look, just as memorable as her warmth and unmistakable presence. She carried herself with elegance, but it was her heart and her ability to connect with others that made her truly special. Ann never met a stranger for long, and she had a way of turning acquaintances into lifelong friends.
She often said, “My friends are my family,” and she lived those words every day. Her friendships were among the greatest treasures of her life. She loved her friends deeply, and the bonds she formed throughout the years were a testament to the love, loyalty, and joy she brought to so many people. To know Ann was to know someone who made you feel welcome, valued, and loved.
Ann’s life was a reminder that beauty is not only found in the things we surround ourselves with, but also in the love we share, the friendships we nurture, and the memories we leave behind. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her impeccable style, her love of life, and the special way she made ordinary moments feel extraordinary.
Though she will be deeply missed, Ann’s spirit will live on in the people she loved, the friendships she treasured, and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, friendship, and a little bit of glamour—a life beautifully lived and a woman who will never be forgotten.
