

Lois Christine Jaeger, suddenly left this earth to be with her savior on Sunday, August 21, 2011, after fully enjoying 83 years of life. She was born on July 10, 1928 in Corsicana, Texas to Florence Allen Hunt and Claude Price Hunt. The family moved to Austin, Texas when she was two weeks old.
Lois was a dedicated employee of the State of Texas Secretary of State’s Office. After 20 years of service, she retired in October, 1990.
Always cheerful, she was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, enjoying frequent family gatherings. She never missed an opportunity to make us smile. Some of her talents included crochet and knitting. She enjoyed making beautiful doilies and knitted items for family and friends. Everyone needs a stocking cap or two!
Preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Howard, Sam, Allen, Vernon, and Richard; three sisters, Mary Ruth Benson, Madelyn Duncan, and Nadine Taylor; a grandchild, John Wesley Deison; husband of 18 years, Johnnie Deison; and husband of 10 years, Boone Heep, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Floyd Jaeger; two daughters, Jan Haffelder (Ronnie), Rebecca Cannon (Richard); one son, Glynn Deison (Jerri); five grandchildren, Tracey Deison, Audra Scandurra (Steve), Christie Park, Harley Haffelder, Hoyt Haffelder (Alexis); four great-grandchildren, Matthew Haffelder, Andrew Haffelder, John Cody Scandurra, and Johnathan Haffelder; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
During the last four months of her life, she was tenderly cared for by the loving staff at Brodie Ranch Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff for the excellent care she received. We would also like to express our thanks to the staff of Seton Medical Center-Hays for their exceptional support and care.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
