Lois Carlson Standifer

Lois Carlson Standifer, 80, of Austin, died peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her home accompanied by family on Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Lois was born in Cranfills Gap, Texas. She attended Mustang Rural Elementary, Cranfills Gap Elementary & High School and Clifton Jr. College. Lois has been an active member of Faith Lutheran Church for 40 years. She began her career with the Austin Independent School District as an office assistant and retired as Benefits Administrator. Lois was known to her family as Mom, Grandma, G'ma and Best Friend. She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Lydia Carlson; and her sister, Cairlee Olson. Lois is survived by her sister Opal Tergerson.; 4 children & their spouses, Mark & Diane Standifer, Bill & Julie Standifer, Penny & Ken Hilton, Patti & Charlie Zinsmeyer; 5 grandsons, Daniel Standifer, Kyle Hilton, Kurt Sisson, Wade Sisson, & Tim Zinsmeyer; 7 granddaughters, Ashley Standifer, Erin Standifer, Whitney Humphrey, Kelsey Hilton, Tracy Standifer, Heather Nimmo & Holly Zinsmeyer; and many dear friends. Honoring her as pallbearers will be nephews Kirby Olson, Bob Tergerson; grandsons Daniel Standifer, Kyle Hilton; son-in-laws Ken Hilton, Charlie Zinsmeyer; and close friends, Mack Schumann and Ross Franks. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2008 at Faith Lutheran Church, Austin, TX. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at St. Olaf Cemetery in Cranfills Gap, Texas.
