

Lola Mary Ewald Schutz, 94, resident of Austin and formerly of San Antonio, passed away November 4, 2005. She was born and raised in Guadalupe County, Texas, a fourth generation Texan. Mrs. Schutz was preceded in death by her husband Ernest and nine of her siblings. She is survived by her sister Irma Ewald Bell of Brenham, son Bob and his wife, Barbara, grandson John and grandson William and his wife, Domiciana, and great-granddaughters Bianca and Clara. Mrs. Schutz is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Mrs. Schutz will be remembered by her immediate and extended family for her devotion and generosity. She was the family matriarch, loved and depended upon by all. She participated in community and church groups and treasured the friendships she made. Mrs. Schutz served for many years as clothing alteration department supervisor at Frost Brothers in San Antonio and she supervised alterations at Paul Wesley Hodges in San Antonio before her retirement in 1976 and move to Austin. In Austin, she continued to alter fine womens garments for her many treasured friends. The Schutz family would like to express heartfelt gratitude for the care given her by Hospice Austin and by caregivers arranged by Visiting Angels. Individuals from both organizations provided loving and professional care. Friends are invited for visitation from 6-8 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar on November 6. A funeral service will be held at 4pm on November 7 at First English Lutheran Church, W. 30th and Whitis.
