Lonnie Newman Campbell was on born January 27, 1935 and passed away on August 13, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mertie Campbell; and his daughter Connie. He is survived by daughters, Penny and Sherry; brothers, Jake and David; step-children, Ronnie and Rhonda; numerous wonderful grandchildren; many cousins; and his dog, Elvis.
Lonnie graduated from Dripping Springs High School in 1953 and worked for sometime with his father doing electrical work. He went onto a lifetime of selling plumbing supplies with numerous companies, including B&B Wholesale, American Standard, and PFV Supply where he was the manager.
Lonnie loved to play golf and was a respected player, making several holes-in-one at various golf clubs. He attended Congress Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and led a Sunday School Class. Lonnie was very active in the Travis County Rodeo and also a 57 year member of the Rambo Masonic Lodge in Dripping Springs.
Lonnie was well known for his story telling abilities, and anyone who was around him very long knew about this talent he had. He loved to tell stories about all aspects of his life, and was thrilled when people would listen. Lonnie will be missed by Riverside Nursing Home, where he spent the last four years of his life.
