Lonzo Felan

Alonzo “Lonzo” Felan, of Austin, Texas, passed away on June 29, 2017. Born on November 17, 1943 in Bertram, Texas, Lonzo grew up playing the game he loved most- baseball. He particularly loved playing for the Bertram Red Sox.

On February 2, 1963, he married, Lori (Cordova) and together they had 3 children- Tim, Christy, and Jennifer. Lonzo went on to coach several softball teams for family and friends where many would become lifelong friends.

Lonzo was preceded in death by his daughter Christy, his father Fred Sr., his mother Eloisa, and his brother Arthur. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 54 years, Lori, his son Tim, his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Duaine Tealer, one granddaughter Niyra, one grandson Nehemiah and a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3rd 2017 in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas. The family encourages all who attend to come in casual attire or in your favorite sports team apparel. Lonzo was a fan of the UT Longhorns, the NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys.
