Lora was born on March 22, 1933, the 6th child of 10 to Alton and Leone Dippel in Round Top, TX. She was blessed to be born into the happiest, most fun-loving family imaginable. Her walk with our Lord began with her baptism in 1933 and continued when she met and married the love of her life, Robert Ray Janda on June 16, 1951. After they married, they found St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin, TX and were confirmed in their faith together by Pastor Albert Jesse June 1, 1952, along with Lora’s brother, Harvey Dippel.
The Lord blessed Lora and Robert with 6 children, who she recently proclaimed at a church meeting to be her greatest accomplishments in this life. She was very devoted to raising all of them in the church she loved. The Lord continued his blessings with the weddings of her children, followed by 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of which were a joy to her happy, baby-loving heart. Beside her family devotion, she also loved caring for the children of others. She was known as Momma Janda to many.
After Robert’s passing, through her love of dancing she met Don Morrison. They enjoyed one another’s companionship for the last 16 years. She also enjoyed dominoes and was an avid Longhorn fan.
She is survived by one brother, Harvey “Snooks” Dippel; four sisters, Josie Mae Jaster, Verbie Weiss, JoAnne “Annie” Wagner and Marian “Polly” Supak and husband Douglas; children Gene Janda (Irma), Marilyn Roskey (Marvin), Cindy Mirtsching (Warren), Dennis Janda (Suzette), Dale Janda (Melissa), Tammy Howard (Keith); grandchildren Keven, Travis, Lyle Janda; Justin, Reece, Andrew Roskey; Mitchell, Matthew Mirtsching; Natalie, Robert Janda; Kellen, Cassidy Janda; Ayden, Nathan “Hank”, Gavin Howard; great grandchildren, Zoe, Avery Janda; Noah, Emmalina Janda; Charlie, Riggs Roskey; Dorothy Mirtsching.
