

It is with great sadness that the family of Lorenza Oviedo Garcia of Austin, Texas announce her peaceful passing on Friday April 26, 2019 at 11:00am.
Lorenza was preceded in death by her parents Enrique and Crescencia Oviedo; sister Eleanor Oviedo Lopez; brother Lorenzo Oviedo; sister-in-law Janie Oviedo; nephew Diego Oviedo, Jr.; great-niece Meagan Oviedo; husband Jose Jaime Garcia, Sr.; son-in-law Lee Voss Kauffman and grandson Eric Tyler Redding.
She is survived by her daughter Sarah Sylvia Kauffman of Sugar Land, Texas, son Jose Jaime Garcia, Jr of Cedar Park, Texas and his wife Rafaela Garcia; daughter Linda Ann Garcia of Cedar Park, Texas; daughter Evelyn Lorene Garza of Driftwood and her husband Mauro Humberto Garza, Jr.; daughter June Garcia Sherman of Sugar Land, Texas and her husband Marc Alan Sherman, Sr.; daughter Alma Velina Redding-Kyle of Cedar Park, Texas and her husband David Kyle; daughter Melissa Garcia Schmittou and her husband Tony Schmittou and her 17 grandchildren; Kara Garcia, Gina Garcia, Jose Jaime Garcia III, Amanda Garcia, Zachary Garcia, Lorenza Garza, Mauro Humberto Garza, III., Jamie-Lauren Sherman, Sarah-Leanne Sherman, Marc Alan Sherman, Jr., Olivia-Grace Sherman, Michael Redding, Matthew Redding, Jose Jaime Garcia, TJ Schmittou, Xavier Schmittou and Ava Marie Schnittou and her four great-grandchildren Miranda, Alessia, Liam and Owen.
She is also survived by her brother Diego Oviedo, Sr. and wife Regina, of Taylor and sister-in-law Janie Oviedo of Bartlett and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Serving as Pallbearers were her grandsons Zachary Garcia, Jose Jaime Garcia, TJ Schmittou, Jose Jaime Garcia III, Michael Redding, Matthew Redding, Marc Alan Sherman, Jr. and Honorary pallbearers Mauro Humberto Garza III., Eric Tyler Redding and Xavier Schmittou.
Lorenza was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 10th, 1932. She was crowned Queen of Taylor, Texas on September 16th, 1953 and married the love of her life Jose Jaime Garcia on April 24th, 1954. She was a proud homemaker where she raised her 6 daughters and 1 son. She stood by and assisted her husband in living his radio dreams and later owning and operating radio station KMXX-FM and KELG-AM.
She was a devoted Catholic, Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She loved to cook, crochet and spend time with her family. Her humor, infectious laugh and giggles were some of her greatest qualities.
Lorenza was an amazing wife and mother who made running a home and raising 7 kids look effortless. Her beauty was evident on the outside as well as the inside. She will be greatly missed.
