

Lorraine was born July 2, 1920, in South Haven, Michigan, to Albert and Viola Pioch.
After graduation at Bronson Methodist Hospital of Nursing she was appointed to the Navy Nurse Corps on April 13, 1943, in South Haven, Michigan at the rank of Ensign with the Chief of the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery Navy Department, Washington, DC. She was continuous from April 1943 to September 1944 and stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital, San Diego, California.
After meeting and marrying her husband in 1944 at the Naval Hospital and still serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, they moved to Austin, Texas. She worked as a private duty nurse for 15 years in the Austin area then retired from the University of Texas Health Center after 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by husband John L. Turner and great-granddaughter, Libbie Lorraine Nichols.
Lorraine is survived by her three children and their spouses, Michael and Ada Turner, Becky Cantu, Albert and Lynne Turner, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish South Congress, 2620 South Congress.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish South Congress Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville.
