Zack, Rachel and Mrs. Stone, I am devastated to hear of this tragedy. Mr. Stone was always so quiet whenever I visited as a kid but at the same time I felt so welcome in his home. It's been so long and yet I really cherish those days hanging out with Zack. And I remember working at the Woodbridge Country Club for a couple of summers and Mr. Stone treated me so well. Again, quiet, humble as respectful as they come. I am so, so sorry. Zack, please get in touch if you need anything. With love.

I worked at Clifford Beers from 2004-2007 and worked extensively with the board. I got to know and respect Louis as a steady, understated, passionate leader. I am saddened to hear of this tremendous loss and my heartfelt condolences go out to the entire family.

Susy, Rachel, Zack and family- I am so, so sorry for your loss. Lou touched so many lives. I will never forget that smile... or those curls. You are in my thoughts.

I just heard about Lou's death this morning and I am shocked.  He oversaw major building renovations at my shul, Congregation Beth El-Keser Israel and proved to be a mensch in every way!

He will be sorely missed in the Jewish and general community of Greater New Haven!

I can't even begin to try and understand the sense of loss Susan and her kids are feeling. Lou was someone I always admired and looked up to. Calm, gracious and funny. Always generous with his time. Our relationship started off as one of business, though we quickly became friends. Lou was my mentor. His lessons and advice stay with me to this day. It's easy to tell when someone genuinely good leaves our lives. The void they leave behind is self evident.  I will sincerely miss you....

There was no more devoted person willing to stand up for the most vulnerable children of New Haven.  He was a leader not only by example but with his heart.  He left an impression on all of us who were blessed to have worked with him.  Prayers to his family.  He was a wonderful man and his philanthropy was deep and true.

I have had the privilege of knowing Lou for several years, mostly as a golf companion.  I was very glad that he decided to join the New Haven CC so that I had the chance to play with him on a more regular basis.  Lou had a unique personality, was a great golfer and storyteller, and even a better man.  I will miss him a lot.

I can only imagine what a wonderful man Louis must have been, because I have had the pleasure of getting to know Rachel here in Austin.  I can see in her that she comes from smart and thoughtful people that care much about the world.  I feel so deeply for you and your family, Rachel.  Words can't even describe.

I just met Lou this year at the Ct Senior Am at Tallwood. I was nervous and he came over and just said a few kind words. The way he said it just relaxed me cuz he was so relaxed.  He was a great man. He did that to help me.  I am really sorry for your loss. I met him 2 days and will always remember him.

One of the most loyal firm and friend my brother and I had.

Although I live in Chicago I ran into Lou at a member guest at nhcc. We had not seen each other in 30 years & spent time catching up on growing up in new haven & family & friends. He was a giant of a man , a combination of warmth & intellect. He will be greatly missed but we all have been blessed to have had him in our lives.
