Betty Louise Green was born February 9, 1927 passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2021. Louise was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of the Community Bible Fellowship. Children were her greatest joy, and she was a mom to all.
Known to her family as Granny, she was also known as Mama Green of “Mama Green’s Place”. For over 35 years, she and her best friend, husband Gene, ran an in-home daycare where they helped raise 100’s of children. Several of the children, who are now grown, still come to visit her often. She was a teacher, a mentor, a caregiver, a child of God and the most genuine woman you ever met.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gene Green and daughter Betty Ruth. She is survived by her 6 children and their families – Theresa Slocum of Austin, Bobby and Dianne Green of Abilene, Ann Green of Austin, Cecelia and Ronnie Hoisington of Hillsboro, Tim and Kimberly Green of Austin, and Frances and Timmy House of Round Rock. Her Grandchildren, who were so very precious to her - Beth, Debbie, Sean, Amy, Emily, April, Amber, Cindie, Amanda, Savannah, Timmy, Corbin, Glory, Lauren, and Garrett. She also has numerous Great and Great-Great Grandchildren.
The Green family would like to send a very special thanks to David and Vicki DeBusk and their children for their unconditional love and support. The Green family would also like to say thank you to Sue and Veronica of Hospice of Austin for the excellent care and love they showed our mom in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
