My name is Claudine Whiston I am the daughter of Claudette Jeanine Soucy - Whiston, born in Maine and resided in Pennsylvania. 
My Mother was the younger sister of Lucien.
 We are all very sad that we did not meet Lou or any of our family on my Mother's side. 
I had two very nice conversations with Lou in the few years before he passed. Many Prayers and Love that Lou is a t peace XO

I met Lou when he was assigned to the Paris F.O.  he was a true friend God bless him. Best to Beverly and his family 


My question is: Did Lou ever work for The Emery-Waterhouse Co. in Portland, ME ?



How sad to hear of his passing.  I was introduced to him while he was visiting his step-father, Bill Larkin (and wife Laurette) in Sabattus.  He and I went out to the Muddy Rudder in Freeport for dinner the late '90s.  What a fine gentleman he was.  And, man, did he have some stories from his constant adventures in the Secret Service!  He gave me a cap from the SS.  Still have it.  The world is poorer place without him.  The pleasure was all mine, Lou!

We were terribly saddened to learn of Lou's death just last week.  Lou and I once shared a cubicle wall at the AG's office.  He quickly became a friend and I learned to expect his constant smile.  

His stories were always a delight and the world lost one of it's finest gentlemen.

May I state my appreciation to all you wonderful people that expressed such thoughtful words about my stepson Lou Soucy.  I was his step-father since Lou was nine years old.  My name is Bill Larkin of Sabattus, Maine.  He was always a bright, personable, thoughtful caring, sharing, individual and I - as well as all my family enjoyed him, loved him and miss him very much.  His passing is difficult for us to accept - We are told that we are all significant, spiritual beings, living a temporary human existance and we are also taught that when our journeys are completed that our soul and spirit are released to paradise and our heavenly Father.

Will miss and have missed for the past few years my visits to Austin to see Lou and Beverly.  Evenings on the back porch smoking our pipes, drinking Jameson's into the wee hours, and telling tales to one another were always delightful times.  They will continue to be delightful memories. Dear Family I will always remember my 40th birthday when Lou brought me lily of the valley. I was visiting in Paris.  He could be a world class gentleman. He also loved my dad about as much as I did.   I will be  with you in my heart tomorrow as you celebrate the life of your father.



52 years of friendship is not enough â€“ gone too soon. We cannot express how much we will miss him; his humor, his positive attitude, his spirit and his love of lifeâ€¦.. with great affection, farewell



We knew Lou for 45 years. He was great friend and story-teller and so funny he could have you falling out of your chair. He was generous with his time and skills and would help with anything that needed doing. Although Lou's job took him to several locations in the U.S. and to Paris, he made each home a comfortable and beautiful place for his wife, Beverly, and for his children, Paul and Claudine. 

Lou was a wonderful host. Put some Edith Piaf or Willie Nelson on, pour a little Bushmill or Calvados, and it was a party. 

One of the things that made Lou a great man is whether you were a stranger at Starbucks, Francois Mitterand, or Lady Bird Johnson, he treated all people with respect and was able to establish a basis for friendship with anyone. 

Sometmes at night, Lou would go out into his backyard, enjoy his pipe, and look at his beautiful Texas sky. He was one of a kind, and we will miss him.



Lou was a great brother to me, when I was growing up he would take me
sking, and hiking with him. We climbed Mount Washington together
        I have always loved Lou and enjoyed my times with him. He will be
missed...........................



Dear Paul, Claudine and the Beidermann's, Our deepests sympathies go out to all of you.  Brother Lucien will be dearly missed by all of us -- he touched all our lives in a loving, caring, compassionate way.  He truly was a Rock in our family.  There are no words to describle our sudden and tragic loss of our dear brother and son. My deepest sympathies are with you.  I will miss Lou and his constant smile.  We talked many times about his job and mine and how much we enjoyed what we did.  In my job I've run into so many people over the years that knew him and spoke so fondly of him and the job he did for this country. I wanted you to know what an impact he had and how much he will be missed.  My love is with you all.

Lou and I became friends when he joined the Attorney General's Protective Detail Unit.  He was always ready to give guidance, listen to ideas and offer solutions.  Although we met in different stages of our careers, Lou still managed to hang with the younger men he was working with and had to endure a lot of practical jokes.  My favorite prank â€“ One day we were sitting in the office, Lou was ranting about something, so I decided to send messages to his pager [we had a keyboard where you could type out messages; similar to texting], which read [low battery].  He got up out of his chair, walked to the supply room to get a new battery, replace it and a few minutes later Iâ€™d send the same message [low battery].  He was so frustrated with the â€œstate purchased batteriesâ€ and would not stop complaining about the bad batch of batteries we had purchased.  This went on for about an hour, before he busted me.  We laughed so much, and I paid dearly for this prank.  [No batteries we wasted; all were collected all out of the trash and returned to the supply room].  
Youâ€™re my boy Lou!  Thank you for being my friend.  




Lou was a great gentleman and a very interesting man.
I enjoyed talking to Lou about his life experiences.
Lou once gave me a black Secret Service cap and pin which he got from 
one of his assignments. The cap has the initials BPD.
Lou told me that BPD meant Bush Protective Detail.
Prior to learning about Lou's passing today. I have always
treasured that cap because it came from Lou.  
Everytime I see that cap which sits on a shelf in my home office that cap 
always reminded me of Lou and his kindness. Now after learning of Lou's passing today that cap and pin will be treasured forever. Someday, I will pass that cap and pin on to my son. 
I will tell my son about the gentleman "Lou Soucy" that gave me that cap and pin.

i was stunned and very saddened to hear about lucien's passing. the last time i saw him was at my grandmother grover's funeral just over 2.5 years ago. i always felt particular close to lucien.  my condolences to claudine and paul and beverly.
