Felipe Bernal Vasquez and Francis Ramirez welcomed Lucille on August 23, 1950. Lucy married Henry Martinez Pineda, her husband of forty four years, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church on October 2, 1970. For over forty years Lucy was a dedicated Purchaser at Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). In the remaining years of life, Lucy embraced retirement and cherished time with her family.
Lucy is survived by her three children: her son Henry Lee, and her two daughters, Rosalie and Stephanie. She is also survived by her loving sisters and brothers: Phillip (Mary Ester) Vasquez, Albert Vasquez, Cecilia Vasquez, Ophelia Vasquez, John (Mary) Vasquez, Carolyn Vasquez, and Joseph Vasquez. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers Edward (Olga) Vasquez and Thomas Vasquez.
The family will have a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Mass celebrating Lucy’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 25, at San José Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, TX 78704 at 01:00 PM followed by a burial at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr Austin, TX 78749.
