Lura Campbell Schwartz

Lura was born in Temple, Texas on December 14, 1934 to Wilson and Lena Myrl (Sanders) Campbell. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Mathematics. She worked 33 years for the State of Texas. Retiring April 1991 as Director of Data Processing and Telecommunications of Texas Department of MHMR

Her daughter and grandchildren brought tremendous joy and happiness in her life. She loved gardening, entertaining friends poolside, and playing bridge. Lura enjoyed memberships in several social groups and she particularly enjoyed her weekly Friday lunch with a group of dear friends. Lura was blessed to have married twice. She was married to Captain Alan E Bentz and to the late Don F. Schwartz.

Lura is survived by her daughter Alisha Bentz, her granddaughter Jessi Seiders Maupin and husband Cale Maupin, grandson Wilson Seiders, the family of Don and Janet Campbell, the Don Schwartz family including many nieces and nephews, boyfriend Bob Kinney, and many loving and caring friends from all walks of life.

A celebration of her life is pending at Green Pastures. Details are forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Hospice of Austin.
