Lydia was born on March 25, 1920 in Weimar, Texas. We had to say goodbye, for now, on January 22, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elo F. Huebel, her parents, eleven siblings, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was a devoted and loving mother. She loved cooking for her family and her specialty was buttermilk pies. There was always food waiting no matter when family dropped by to visit. She also loved gardening, fishing, camping and dancing polkas. Lydia is survived by four children, Ernestine Ploeger and husband, Marvin; Charlene Bartling and husband, Larry; Loretta Spradling and husband, Ernest; Larry Huebel and wife, Gail; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren . She will be a part of our lives forever and we will all miss her dearly. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 26th of January, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, in Austin, Texas. The Funeral Service is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 27th of January, at Faith Lutheran Church, 6600 Woodrow Ave. in Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Cook -Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas.
