Lydia R Ortega was born on April 29, 1934 in Austin, TX. She passed peacefully from this life the morning of October 27, 2025. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family the last few days of her life.
She was devoted to her faith in Jesus Christ, family and friends. She was beloved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben F Ortega and sons, David and Daniel Ortega.
She is survived by her sons, Benjamin Ortega, Ruben Ortega Jr., Paul (Donita) Ortega, daughter Rachel (Nasario) Ortiz, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews that she prayed for on a daily basis.
A graveside service will be held on November 7, 2025, at 11:00 am at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, Texas, 78731.
Celebration of Life for Lydia Ortega will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm at New Life Baptist Church in Pflugerville located at 19715 Hodde Ln. Pflugerville, TX 78660.
In lieu of flowers, Lydia has requested donations be made to New Life Baptist Church, Pearl Haven Ministries or Mission Netcast.
