

Lynda Maye Brown, beloved mother, stepmother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on September 13, 1946, Lynda lived a life marked by resilience, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.
Lynda was the proud mother of three children—Wesley Short Jr. (Gail Hardy), Wendy Brown (Fred Brown), and Chris Short (Lynn Short)—as well as a loving stepmother to Cecelia Honey and David Brown. Her family was the center of her world. She poured her heart into raising and supporting them, offering guidance, humor, and unconditional love throughout their lives. Her children and stepchildren will forever remember her strength, warmth, and the countless ways she made their lives brighter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Brown; her parents, Bertram Robinson Sr. and Rena Robinson; and her brother, Bertram Robinson Jr.
Lynda is survived by her loving sisters, Katherine Bertram and Marie Robinson, as well as by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she cherished deeply. Her family was her greatest joy, and she delighted in celebrating their milestones, sharing their achievements, and surrounding them with her steady love.
Lynda loved God deeply, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She held a special love for her church and her church family, finding comfort, purpose, and joy in worship and fellowship. The relationships she formed within her church community were a cherished and meaningful part of her life.
Those who knew Lynda will remember her for her generous spirit, her gentle presence, and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. She had a unique gift for turning simple moments into lasting memories, and she carried a quiet grace that touched many lives.
Lynda’s legacy lives on not only through her children, stepchildren, and their spouses, but through the generations of family members and friends who were blessed to share in her life. She will be deeply missed, yet her influence and love will continue to echo lovingly across the years.
A memorial service honoring Lynda’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 29th, at South Austin Baptist Church, located at 8210 S. 1st Street, Austin, Texas 78748. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her remarkable life.
