

Lynette Fairey of Austin, beloved mother of four, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2006. After a long, full life, Lynette is best remembered for her charm, quick wit and compassion for those around her. She enjoyed a challenge, be it a game of tennis, crossword puzzle, good book or composing music. She was a good friend, insightful mentor, life coach, and professional businesswoman, helping others. Earlier in life, Lynette was a member of the Laguna Gloria Art Museum woman's guild and the Austin Symphony League. She dearly loved her family and treasured her time with them. Lynette grew up in Austin and was a graduate of Austin High School. She attended "The University" of Texas at Austin. She was born in Borger to the late Thomas A. Fairey and Emma L. Roberts Fairey, Austin. She is preceded in death by grandchild Taylor Madison Johnson. She is survived by her children, former Austin residents Rick Porter and his wife Terrie, Everett, Washington; Kelly Diane Johnson and husband, John, Austin; Frank Weber, D.D.S., Texarkana; Tom Weber, Austin; stepmother Betty Fairey, Austin; brothers Tom E. Fairey and wife Judy, Austin, and Robert A. Fairey and wife Ethlen, Houston; seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 20 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 3201 Windsor Rd. at Exposition Blvd., Austin, 512-476-3523 with burial to follow at Capital Parks Cemetery, 512-251-4118, 14619 IH-35 North, Pflugerville, Exit 247.
