Mabel Murphy Clark died peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Watson Clark, and her parents, Stephen W. Murphy and Eunice Needham Murphy. She would have celebrated her 97th birthday this September 7. She was a native of South Dakota and moved to Austin with her family in 1962. She was a member of various clubs and organizations in Austin, a former teacher, and a lifelong Presbyterian. She was the mother of four children who survive her: Dr. Stephen Clark and wife, Kate; Ann Clark; Dr. Mark Clark and wife, Dr. Margaret Kreisle Clark; all of Austin and Merry Clark of New York City. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Colin Clark and wife, Sara of Austin; Chandler Clark Murphy and husband, Timothy of Palo Alto, CA; Megan Clark and Adam Clark, both of Austin. The family wishes to thank Mabels caregivers: Violet Spence, Marcella Hall, Gladys Clark, and Barbara Watson; Dr. Ace Alsup and his staff; and Hospice Austin.
