Lonnie Mack Davis, affectionately known as “Mack” was the third of seven children born to the union of Marion and Susie Rowell Davis Sr in Marion, South Carolina. Mack attended and graduated from Terrell Bay. Upon graduation, Mack moved to New Jersey where he studied and trained New Jersey Transit and spent 18 years.
While living in New Jersey, Mack met and married Renae Yvonne Clanton and together they raised two children, Donna Clanton- Ashberry (Herbert); son, Brian Davis.
Mack loved to talk and give advice. He gave his niece, Felicia Davis, plenty of good sound advice that kept Felicia out of trouble with her father and Mack’s brother, Kinlaw Davis. Mack lived 18 years to 19 years in Austin, Texas. Mack managed and ran his brother’s Security Company as his brother’s health declined. Thank God for Mack, his brother needed him!
Mack never met a stranger no matter where he was and communicated with anyone about anything.
Mack Davis is survived by many people who loved him dearly, two children Brian Davis and Donna Clanton-Asberry (Herbert); grandchildren Dominique and Daishon; siblings two brothers Joseph Davis and Marion Davis Jr., both of Marion, S.C.; two sisters, Doretha Sanders and Dorothy Thomas of Marion, S.C., sister-in-law Gertrude Davis of Austin, Texas; 14 nieces and nephews Susan, William, Ronnie, Leslie, Debra, Linda, Kevin, Keith, Lizzie, Eliott, Tonya, Kevin, Felicia and Adam, great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Mae Wyche, Douglas Clark and Brian Anderson, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor James Mackey, and the David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church family.
