Mack Ray Thomas, 69, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 12th, 2024, in Austin, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Mack was known as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mack was also known and appreciated for his charisma, intellect, and loving personality.
He was born on December 22, 1954, to the late Annie Lee Stagg Thomas and Archie Thomas Sr. in Port Arthur, Texas. Mack was a 1973 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School (Port Arthur). While at Lincoln High School, Mack was a member of the Senior Executives, the Drama Club, and the Senior Class Student Body President, as he presided as the Student Body President Mack was presented with a Proclamation from the City of Port Arthur, by Councilman Arthur Guidry. Upon completion of graduating from High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Mack's military duty stations included Zweibrucken in Germany. He met and married the love of his life, Robin Williams, and became a cherished member of her extended family.
After retiring from the Military, Mack was employed as a semiconductor engineer. His employment included Motorola, and Therma-wave. Mack will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Lawrence Thomas, Archie Thomas Jr, and Cecil Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 46 years, Robin, sons, Nicholas (Crystle), Maurice, Tiffani (Heath) all of Austin, Texas. Grandchildren, Talynn, Camrynn, and Rachael. Brothers, Phillip Thomas (Sonia) of Port Arthur, Texas, Anthony (Sharisse) of Katy Texas, Sisters, Julie Moore (Calvin) of Baytown, Texas, Debbie (Shawn) of Richmond, Texas, and Bertha Lee Jones (Robert) of Bunkie Louisiana., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A visitation for Mack will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Church of Christ at East Side, 5701 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78721. A burial will occur Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.
