Madeline Jane Anderson died on Sunday doing the things she loved, going on yet another adventure and exploring new vistas. Her loss fills her family and friends with immeasurable grief, yet we take solace in the memory of a smile, pout or one of her quick retorts. Madeline was a radiant star to all those who knew her, whether they were neighbors, friends at her school, St. Francis, or her friends in the choir and youth group at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. She leaves behind her mother, Sarah L. Anderson, who will miss her headstrong ways and loving embrace, her father, Joe R. Anderson who will miss watching old movies and "Futurama" with her after all had gone to bed, and of course her darling little sister, Julia Frances Anderson who equally worshiped and deviled her. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including her grandmothers Patricia C. Loud of Forth Worth, Judy Harper of Austin, and great-grandmother Patricia S. Anderson of Abilene, her uncles John Timothy Loud of Fort Worth, Alexander Loud of Leyden Massachusetts, Charles Ruelas of Tallahassee Florida, James Harper of Oklahoma City, Sam Harper of Austin, Jean Marie Hunt of Dallas and Jennifer Brenner of Austin. She also leaves her loving godparents, George and Margaret Liebes of Austin, and of course her cats, "Henry," "Jack," and "Marvin." Our Madsie had so many interests that covered the pantheons of science, crafts, animals and literature and poetry. She was so wise for one so young. We thank the loving, supporting community of friends and neighbors, of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, and of St. Francis School. Our dearest Madsie, we will think of you always and you will live in our hearts forever. We end with one of your recent poems. Blank Page Don't sit there with a blank page don't say there are not enough words don't climb below at sea level but climb high to ride upon birds Don't sit there with a blank page a mind that's lacking thought for deep inside there's memories too valuable to be bought Those memories are yours and when you die some day the wonders of your life are gone you let them fade away So write them down for all to read so they can never shift so future kin soon to come from your life can lift For when your life is speeding past your heart may turn to rage gone are the memories that meant to last don't sit there with a blank page We love you "Goober!" We'll miss you, Mom, Dad, and "Jules." Services will be held at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 3201 Windsor Road, Austin, Texas on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the Anderson family would appreciate contributions to the Town Lake Animal Shelter or St. Francis School.
