The family of Manuel Campos of Austin, Texas, is saddened to announce his passing on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the age of 93. He was born on August 23, 1933, in Bertram, Texas and grew up in Sealy, Texas. He was self-employed for over 48 years in the retail liquor business and owned several other businesses. He graduated from Sealy High School, Sealy, Texas, in 1955 and attended Nixon Clay Business College in Austin, Texas in 1956.
He was a U.S. veteran and served in the U.S. Army.
He was married to his wife, Carmen V. Campos, for 67 years. He has 3 surviving children, Patricia Campos-Anderson (Christopher), Edward Campos (Julia Loera-Campos) and Blasé Campos; and his sister, Carol Rodriguez (Jesse). He has two grandchildren, Ramsey Campos (Mercedes) and Monica Campos. Along with three great grandchildren, Lillian, Rylie and Manuel.
Manuel was preceded in death by his father, Alejo Campos, his mother, Hipolita Campos; his sister, Janie Campos; his brother, Simon Campos; his sister, Julia Rodriguez; and his brother-in-law, Jesse Rodriguez (Carol).
A Celebration of Manuel’s life will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
Pallbearers will be: Blase Campos, Ramsey Campos, Christopher Anderson, Juan Hernandez, Abraham Motley, Andrew Rodriguez, and Guy Schwaniban.
