Marcia Artelia Brown

Marcia Artelia Brown was born on July 30, 1960, in Austin, Texas to Milton & Minnie Brown. From an early age, Marcia embraced her faith, accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at First Baptist Church, where she remained a devoted member throughout her life.

Marcia attended schools in the Austin Independent School District and graduated from Lyndon B. Johnson High School in 1978. She went on to pursue a degree in Business Administration at Southwest Texas State University, attending from 1978 to 1982. Her education laid the foundation for a meaningful career, beginning with over a decade of service at the Texas Railroad, where she applied her skills and dedication to public service.

Later, Marcia continued her professional journey at Huston-Tillotson University where she worked as a Test Administrator and Proctor. Her passion for helping others extended beyond her career - she generously volunteered her time with organizations such as Goodwill and the Texas Workforce Commission, always seeking ways to uplift those around her.

A faithful servant of God, Marcia served as an Usher and was a committed member of the Missionary Board at First Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Danny Thomas. Her unwavering faith, kind spirit, and dedication to service touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and steadfast devotion to her community and faith.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Minnie Brown, and her sister, Rochelle Easley. We find peace in knowing she is now reunited with them.

Marcia leaves to cherish her memory her son, Tyreese Brown (Sherelle) and her grandson Isaiah; her brother, Ernest Brown (Valerie); and her brother-in-law, Rex Easley. She will also be remembered by her nieces, Ebonie Davis and Ashley Campbell (Chris); her nephew, Rex Easley II; her great-nieces, Kendi, Destinee and Nyela; and her great-nephews Dominic Jr. and Malachi. Marcia will also be remembered and cherished by a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.
