

Marcia Caudle, age 67 of Austin, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015. She was born on Wednesday, August 13, 1947 to Donald and Edith Meyer in Lima, Ohio. She grew up on a farm in Ohio and started college at nearby Bowling Green University. Fate saw Marcia fall into a long-distance love affair with a California college student that she met at the local county fair. She eventually followed that student, Dennis Caudle, to California, married him, and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in English.
Marcia's professional career was spent in the California school systems as an administrator at multiple schools. She was also an avid book reader and master quilter that helped swaddle a whole generation of family in her lovely creations. Marcia was a quiet woman of incredible strength and determination who fought cancer for 9 long years before her passing. She lived a peaceful life filled with an extremely loving marriage of nearly 49 years and always put family first. She was also known to playfully drop a pithy statement or timely barb into a conversation just when you thought she wasn't paying attention.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis; brother, Bob Meyer of Ohio; brother, Dick Meyer of Kentucky; brother, Tom Meyer of Ohio; sister, Dolores Verbonitz of Oklahoma; daughter, Kristi Johnston of Texas; son, Scott Caudle of Texas; and 5 wonderful grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX.
