

Parents: Dr. Robert Vincent Murray and Jessie Ramsey Murray
Margaret accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 10. She is a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church, Austin. In 1940, Margaret married the love of her life, Dr. Joe Weldon Bailey, who predeceased her in 1999, having been married 58 years. An infant son, Ben Sinclair Bailey predeceased her, in 1950.
Margaret is survived by her children: Joe and Carolyn Bailey, Flatonia; Dr. Ralph Bailey, Austin; Jennifer Locke, Columbus, MS; Lee and Nancy Bailey, San Antonio.
Grandchildren include: Ben and Sherri Bailey, Laura and Nathan Crowell, Matthew and Caren Bailey, Rachel Bailey, John and DeeDee Bailey, Jeffrey and Stephanie Chappell Bailey, Timothy and Emily Bailey, Preston and Stephanie Jane Bailey Hill.
Great-grandchildren are: Mollie Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Micah Bailey, Bailey Crowell, Adeline Crowell, Winston Crowell, Carson Bailey, Parker Bailey, Jackson Bailey, Preston Bailey, Catherine Bailey, Knox Bailey, and Chappell Bailey.
Margaret is predeceased by sisters Annabel Thomas and Frances Leggett. She is survived by brother Dr. Vincent Murray,
Sunday school teacher, and confidant for many, Margaret especially enjoyed teaching her adult ladies' class at Hyde Park Baptist. She was Queen of Austin High and President of the Chi Omegas at UT.
Margaret had a life-long passion for music, especially for the piano. She has fond memories of accompanying her grandfather, fiddler Frank Taylor Ramsey, her sister, soprano Annabel Thomas, and the well-known whistler, Fred Lowery. An able alto, she made sure all her children could sing and harmonize.
Margaret will be remembered for always having a smile, a thank you, and a sweet disposition on her face. She cared and she made a difference, and Margaret is looking forward to eternal life in heaven with Jesus, her Lord and Savior.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway in Austin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, Young Life at UT Austin, Prison Fellowship or a charity of your choice.
