The love we have for each other in Christ brings deep sorrow when we are parted by death. Jesus himself wept at the grave of his friend. So, while we rejoice that one we love has entered into the nearer presence of our Lord, we sorrow for our loss. The matriarch of our family has left us for a well deserved rest. She leaves behind her brother Abb and Ruth Scarbrough of Rancho Bernardo, California; children Rita and Mitch Olguin, John and Pam Martinez, and Lorrie Martinez and grandchildren Zac, Aaron, Montana, Lyle and Sadie of Austin, Texas and many nephews and nieces too many to mention. Also grieving are so many who were not related in a conventional sense but were as members of the extended family. She is sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29th at Redeemer Lutheran Church. She will rest in Fort Sam Houston alongside her beloved husband Benny and eldest son Kit. She was always there when she was needed, and never failed to offer whatever she had to whomever she found in need.
