
Margaret Drotar Zvonkovic, formerly of Branford CT, passed away on May 26, 2025 at her home in Belmont Village, on Bee Cave Road, Austin, TX. She was born December 28, 1926 in East Lyme, CT, daughter of the late John and Clara Beck Drotar. With her late husband, Michael Zvonkovic, who worked for a large multinational company, Margaret (known as “Peggy”) lived in several foreign countries and five states in the US during her 98 years of life. For the last 47 years, she lived in Missouri City TX and then Austin, Texas.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Mike, who was born in Branford, her daughter Gail, and her sisters, Rosemary Tobin, Anne Noonan, and Mary Lou Drotar. She is survived by four children, Gary Zvonkovic of Conroe, TX, Joan Prinz of Austin, TX and her husband Trey, Paul Zvonkovic of Athens, GA and his wife, Anisa, and Mark Zvonkovic of Hopewell Junction, NY, and his wife Nancy, as well as her former daughter-in-law, Susan Zvonkovic, of Temple, TX, and by nine grandchildren, Matthew Zvonkovic, Michelle Shokraeifard, and her husband, Joshua, Mark Zvonkovic, Jamila Zvonkovic, Geoffrey Prinz, and his wife, Christie, Laura Prinz, Catherine Zvonkovic, Sarah Zvonkovic, and Andrea Zvonkovic, and her husband, Michiel Boerwinkel. Peggy is survived by two great grandchildren, Michele’s daughter, Leila Shokraeifard, and Andrea’s son, Adrian Zvonkovic. Peggy’s sister Carrie Davis and brother John Drotar also survive her.
Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford, CT on Tuesday June 10, 2025 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org.
