

Margueritte Shuberg Flournoy, 92, of Austin, Texas passed away October 10, 2005. She was born in Del Valle, Texas on the family farm on February 24, 1913. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Nellie Shuberg, her loving husband of 60 years, M.H. (Mac) Flournoy, and her sister, Opal Bailey. The descendant of Swedish immigrants, she was a life long resident of Austin and attended The Colorado School and Austin High School. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Austin Womens Club, the Susanna Wesley Class of First United Methodist Church, and her beloved sewing group. A devoted spouse, mother, grandmother and friend she provided emotional strength and support to all those around her. She was an integral part of the success and operation of Texas Lumber Company and all the other enterprises in which she and her husband engaged. She always took an active and positive interest in those around her. She was both wise and loving and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her brother, Joe Edmond Shuberg, her sons, Malcolm H. Flournoy, Jr. and wife Karen, Donald R. Flournoy and wife, Sharon, and her grandsons, Malcolm H. Flournoy, III, (Trey) and wife Michelle, Donald Marsh Flournoy, Brandon Mills Flournoy, and Royce H. Flournoy, and great grandchild, Will Vanecek, her sister in law, Gloria H. Flournoy, and her nephews Al Schorre, Jr., Al Mac Flournoy, Clarence Richard Flournoy, II, Wayne Bailey, and Joe Gene Bailey, and niece Jeannine Flournoy Shirey. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Weed Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
