Marie L. Hayter, age 78, of Austin died August 13, 2009. Marie was an independent woman. In her youth, she served in the Army where she met her husband of 53 years. She raised a family and worked at St. Paul Lutheran Church. In recent years Marie enjoyed volunteering her time at Seton Hospital and St. Paul Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hayter and parents, George and Emma Hoffman. She is survived by her two sons, Phillip and wife Helen Hayter and Michael and wife Kathy Hayter; grandchildren Cole, Sara and Lauren; her two brothers, Louis and wife Evelyn Hoffman and Richard and wife Sharon Hoffman. Visitation will be on Monday, August 17th, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish on N. Lamar Blvd. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 10:00 am, at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Red River Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Kidney Foundation.
